Dylan Dagenais is a New York City-based composer, producer, voice actor and writer who works in film, podcasting, radio and musical theatre.
A graduate of Emerson College’s Musical Theatre BFA Program, Dylan has been steeped in the creative arts since he made NYC his home in 2019. In his first job he had the privilege of working with such talent as Trevor Noah, Julianne Moore, Todd Haynes and John Bradley, producing for podcasts developed by Luminosity, JP Morgan, NBC and more.
Composing since his teens, Dylan became a Music Production Assistant on the WhoaHaha original series 2 Girls 1 Show, composing several pieces himself for the program, and worked on music and sound production for over 40 films in his college years and the following.
Dylan is a regular guest on the Sweet ’N Spooky Youtube channel for his voice acting abilities and horror cinema expertise. He has written articles relating to Italian giallo films, cult classics, and the cultural reflection of horror.
Dylan is a veteran of synthetic production, but believes every piece should have a human element, whether it be live-tracked instruments, voices, or found sounds. For this reason Dylan plays seven instruments as well as being an accomplished vocalist. He is equally influenced by the likes of Jerry Goldsmith and Lou Reed. His work always carries with it a solid grounding in melodic themes from his background writing pop music, a healthy dose of experimentation, and just a touch… of the macabre.
